Have a Heart Foundation Donates AED to Gifford Youth
Little League
Michael Abt Jr. “Have a Heart Foundation,” formed
after Nichole’s little brother died from sudden cardiac arrest. At the time, Michael was only twelve years
old, without any warning signs or symptoms died while in gym class. Since, Nichole and her mom Taffi have
dedicate their time and effort in spreading the awareness of sudden cardiac
arrest/CPR/AED in our community. Gifford
Youth Little League board members completed CPR/AED certification this year,
and introduced to the Have a Heart Foundation.
I was so happy when I received, an email from
Nichole, saying her foundation will donate to our program a heart defibrillator
(AED), says President Terri Bagley of GYLL.
Our primary concern is the safety and well-being for all
participants/players in our program, including spectators, and volunteers. Our program operates on the donations we
receive from our sponsors and fundraiser, we just do not have the funds to
purchase this vital piece of equipment, which can cost thousands of dollars, so
we are so very thankful for this gift, says Mrs. Bagley.
Michael Abt Jr. Have a Heart Foundation primary goal
is to see that all schools/programs serving children are equipped with the
training and knowledge of CPR/AED and preparedness for a cardiac event. Have a
Heart Foundation have donated about 50 AED’s sponsored about 215 school staff,
coaches, and more to be CPR/AED trained in our community. In addition, the foundation conducts
heart/health screenings for the community.
